Wanna make youre own Sploder game but don't know how to?
No problem!

First klik on the link above, and create an account. This should be quite simple:
Just search a while and klik on the button that says register (curently in the upper right corner).
Fill out the recomendet form. It is very Important that you remember youre password because even when firefox saves it your still asked for it several times later. You need the account so you can save load and publisch projekts (games you made). Now klick on editor there are several tipes of games you can choose from:

Shooter


Klick on shooter if you wan't to make a simple 2d shooter game

Space ship



Choose this game tipe if you wan't to make a classic space-ship shooter game!

Robot



This game tipe is very simmular, just that you have robots instead of space-ships.

Shooter Tutorial

You should now see a random shape filled with a random color.
To youre left you should see the editor. This editor is quite simple and dosen't have any categories.
First we will lear how to change the shape of youre level.
klick a point of the random shape and drag it to move it around (if the point dose not move update youre flash or use another browser). klick a line and a new spot will appear.
Doubleklick a spot and it will vanish. Try it out and movve the spots around a little untill you have a nice big shape. You propably don't like the random color. Down in the right corner you will find a color editor icon.
This editor is very simple. play around with it a little and you will understand how to make youre faforit color.

Lets move on to the fun part. Hold on to the small 2d space ship and drag it to the starting location. turn it by grabbing the little aroow infront of the ship. If the editor area is to big or to small to do this, down in the right corner you will find zoom in/ zoom out tools. you propably don't want youre Level to be one big area so you can add walls by selecting the item called Polygon and dragging it onto the field.

Once you have youre level area designd so it suets you we can move on to adding enemies hazards and power ups. Take a close look at the items in the editor.
In their upper right corner they have signs:            +   -   a small missile/bomb    and      nothing

These signs indicate about what the objekt dose. Some objekts you can hover and you will see a small pop-up text showing you what the objekt is used for.

Wingman

A wingman is a small ship that flies beside you and helps whenever you need it.
Select "wingman to edit a wingman that joins you from the beggining.
"new wingman" is a powerup that will add a wingman to youre group as soon as you hit it.
For youre first game I would recomend not using a wingman because they practikly do the level for you.

+

A "+" will practicly is a powerup.
Fly thought one and it will upgrade you (e.g. more misssilels, more energy, ect. )
[the atomic sign will make you to some sort of superman for a short time]

Drag some objekts onto the playfield. (Tipp: add crystals. In a game without cristals you will have to kill all enemies with can get rather boring and hard) Watch out for the keys! The keys aren't ordenary keys but transofrm into giant atomic spiders when you touch them. Once you killed it the door blocks of its color will vanish.

Once you have addet a lot of items onto the fiel you can test youre game.
For this klick "TEST" in the upper right corner.

Controlls


You can either fly by holdign youre mouse on the point you want to fly to and klicking or with the arrowkeys.
Shot by holding space. (Tipp: if enemies are at close range use X wich burns them in a laser bem [in the robot game it cuts the enemies with a chain-saw])
Use B to send out a small bot that shoots on enemies.
Use V to lay down a mine (in space ship mode this mine explodes when a enemy passes it while in robot mode it explodes in seconds)
Use Z/H to fire a missile.
Tipp: if you can't remember the controls look int the left corner at the bottom while youre playing.

Now you know how to play editing gets a lot easyer. You can test objekts you don't know and finaly finish youre first sploder game!

Jump and Run




Before starting this tutorial please first go throught the shooter tutorial that will teach you the basics.
If you did not, you will not understand the basics of this tutorial.

Building youre first jump and run game.

In this part of the tutorial I will teach you how to make a simple, collect the crystals, jump and run game with sploder. You should have already opend sploder, kliked on "make a game" and opend the Jump and Run edirot. Now you see a simple landscape with random colors and the player standing in the middle. This player marks the player start position. The only difference to the space ship/robot start position is that you can't turn the player. I recomnd dragging the player around all the time away from where youre building so that he's not in your way.

First we will work with the colors. At the same spot a in the shooter editos you will find the button to open the color mixer. But watch out! this one is very different to the shooter one. You can choose youre sky and ground color from a color tablate simular to the one from windows paint. At the side you can change its brightniss. I recomend giving youre level a normal bright blue sky because while playing it looks the best.

To the left of the color editor you see a small prefiew with (propably) a background image. This image is only shown while playing the game so don't be suprised if it dosen't show up in the editor!

Down at the bottom you can choose from several options to make gameplay faster. But watch out! After you ticked these options yourte game won't look as good as before! (ive you wan't to make a dark cave never shut off the lightting effects!)

We will start with the walls and decorations. You propably think we should start of with blocks and tiles because its on the top, but if you wan't to make a room/cave this is not true!
We will start with the simple Backwall 119 (afterwards we will use different textures but not for now).
Drag it onto the editor next to th player and above the ground (it can also bee on the ground).
Now drag the player to the edge of the field so it wont be in the way (if you can't see the edge of the field zoom out or klik on the hand in the upper right corneer and drag the camera across the editor surface, this may requier a lot of pratice). to buid a big room you don't have to alway drag the backwll tiles onto the editor seperatly. Jsut press shift while dragging a tile and it will double ( watch out not dragging several tiles over each other! thiss will make gameplay slower! ).

Once youve got a row of block you can select the courser in the upper right corner and pull a square over these blocks (or select them single by holding shift ). Now with holding shift you can drag the into hight (make the room at least 4 blocks high! ).

You propably wan't the player to see a little bit when the game starts, so we will bild in a window by deleting some blocks and replacing them with windows. Delete the block/s by selecting it/them and then klicking on the X in the upper right corner. Also set a "near light" somewere near the middle of the room. Don't make the rrom to big because its suposed to be a prison!

We can now move on to edeting walls. Go to blocks and tiles and surround the room with walls. leave one end open! Go to switches and doors and select one of the dorrs you need a key for. This door should still be on backwall tiles! I will later explain why.

Also make a floor that gose 2 blocks into the ground. this is the evel (with lighting effects on) that the player can't see the block anymore.

Now make a room thats a bigger (but made eith the same tiles) behind the door.
In the edge that dose not have a door place the key. Cover it with sand block (not to much).
I)nside the second room place about 4 lights (noe near lights). This room should also have an exit with an touch door and should contain a crystal. Tipp: you can make the game mor exiting by adding enemies and spots that are hard to reach but don't overdoo it.

After each room there should also bee a goodie like a medkit or a gun, shiel ammo.....
Once you edited a few room read on.
Play Tipp: jump and hit the wall with youre sword to propell youreself into the air!

Building outside rooms


Building outside room is qutie easy but youve gonna find the right blocks to do this. I recomend using lots of water and searching a little throught the list of blocks witch blocks are avalibal.
